Restoration Progress to January 2015

The following has been achieved between the months of September 2014 to January 2015.

TOP DECK
•  In storage with planned move into the workshop once the lower deck is completed.

LOWER DECK - External work
•  Main body primed and painted up to final coat of coloured paints.
•  Genuine Glasgow crests sourced and applied to body side.
•  Lining on body ends and sides started.
•  Balcony levels set and now bolted up.
•  End dash metalwork drilled, refitted, and painted on inside face.
•  Dash windows re-fitted, glass installed, primed and final paint.
•  Stairs bottom step/mount repaired, painted and fitted.
•  Compressor box repairs started
•  Balcony bell pushes painted and fitted. Awaiting wiring up.
•  Balcony light pa tresses fitted. Light yet to be sourced.

LOWER DECK - Internal work
•  All ventilator windows fitted.
•  All ceiling panels have artwork applied and varnished.
•  All mouldings re-fitted.
•  End half access doors varnished and re-fitted.
•  End full access doors varnished pending re-fitting.
•  Teak side panes fitted.
•  Lower softwood painted areas finished.
•  Repairs to floor started.
•  Bell pushes [mostly newly manufactured to original design] fitted with spring switches. Awaiting electrical connections.
•  Lighting pa tresses re-fitted. Awaiting electrical connections.
•  Sliding doors have gold leaf applied and are ready for re-fitting.
•  Blackout blinds ready for re-fitting.
•  All brass work cleaned back, polished and lacquered.
•  Ticket boxes repaired and repainted.
•  Grab rail varnished and re-fitted with leather grab straps.
